Foreword
The global economy continues to operate in an
environment of heightened uncertainty, marked by
persistent geopolitical tensions, shifting trade
architectures, and evolving capital flows. The
fragmentation of the global economic order and the
reconfiguration of supply chains have added new
complexities to investment and growth. In this
context, the nature of global investment is
undergoing a structural shift. Foreign direct
investment is increasingly influenced by geopolitical
alignment, supply chain resilience, and regulatory
certainty, rather than cost and market size alone.
While these trends have been intensifying since the
pandemic, recent disruptions, especially the
ongoing conflict in West Asia, have further
reinforced the need for countries to fortify their
economic resilience, diversify supply chains,
reduce concentration risks, and position
themselves as reliable and competitive investment
destinations, while also strengthening new drivers
of growth.
